How it works
Instagram's bio and caption fields accept any Unicode text, which is why stylized characters display correctly there even though Instagram doesn't offer font choices itself. Usernames are more restrictive and only allow a narrower character set.

Can I use fancy fonts in my Instagram username?
Instagram usernames only allow letters, numbers, periods and underscores — stylized Unicode characters won't be accepted there. Save them for your display name, bio and captions instead.
Will fancy text affect my reach or searchability?
Instagram's search matches on the underlying characters, so heavily stylized text can be harder to find. Consider keeping your first line or hashtags in plain text.
