How it works
Bold (Sans) uses the Mathematical Sans-Serif Bold block, closest to typical app fonts. Bold uses the serif Mathematical Bold block. Both are real Unicode characters, so they carry over when you paste them anywhere.
Where you can use it
- Instagram and TikTok bios
- Tweet emphasis without needing a bold-enabled client
- Resume-style section headers pasted into plain text fields

Frequently asked questions
Why does bold text look different from normal bold formatting?
Regular bold formatting changes how a font renders the same character. This is a different character entirely, from Unicode's mathematical alphanumeric block — which is what lets it survive being pasted into places that strip formatting.
Will bold text make my Instagram bio bold?
Yes — Instagram's bio field doesn't support real text formatting, so pasting these Unicode characters is the only way to get bold-looking text there without a third-party app. The same applies to most usernames and display names across other apps.
Which bold style should I pick — Sans, Serif, or Italic?
Bold Sans matches most app UI fonts and reads as plain, modern bold. Bold (Serif) has small decorative strokes, closer to a printed heading. Bold Italic and Bold Script add a slant or a handwritten feel on top of the same heavier weight — try a couple side by side, since it comes down to which style matches the rest of your bio or caption.
