How it works
Italic uses the Mathematical Italic block of Unicode. One letter — lowercase h — has no assigned code point in that block, so it's drawn from the Planck constant symbol instead, a well-known compatibility quirk of the standard.

Why does the letter h look slightly different from other letters?
Unicode never assigned italic h its own code point in the mathematical block, so this tool substitutes the closest standard alternative — a tiny, well-documented gap in the standard, not a bug.
Can I combine italic with bold?
Yes — Bold Italic is its own Unicode style, listed separately above, rather than something you layer on top of plain Italic. Pick it directly if you want both the slant and the heavier weight together.
Does italic text work for a full sentence or just short phrases?
Full sentences work fine — the conversion is per-character, so length doesn't matter. Keep in mind it's still plain text underneath, so a screen reader will read it letter-by-letter rather than as normal words in some cases, which is worth considering for long passages meant to be read aloud.
