Zalgo Text Generator

Turn text into glitchy, "corrupted" Zalgo text by stacking random Unicode combining marks above and below each letter. Pick light, medium or heavy intensity.

How it works

Zalgo text works by stacking many combining diacritical marks — the same category of character used for accents — above, through, and below each letter. More marks means a heavier, more chaotic look. Because it's built from combining marks, it works on Cyrillic and other scripts too.

Frequently asked questions

Why does heavy Zalgo text sometimes break layout?

Very high mark counts can make lines taller or cause rendering quirks in some apps, since the app has to stack many marks on a single character. If that happens, try a lighter intensity.

Is the result different every time?

Yes — marks are chosen randomly within each intensity level, so copying twice gives two slightly different results.
